Valve have announced SteamVR Desktop Theater Mode which at the moment is in an early beta stage of development. This mode will be compatible with any virtual reality headsets that support Steam. So virtual reality devices such as the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive are compatible which more to come very soon.
The SteamVR Desktop Theater Mode looks promising as the level of customization is high where you can even change the room design. This gives people the chance to make a really cool “man cave” setup that they may not be able to achieve in real-life, but can in their own virtual reality.
