In a new and modern way to promote the Assassin’s Creed movie, 20th Century Fox and New Regency are launching a VR experience promising to take movie-goers inside the world of the Spanish Inquisition. The Assassin’s Creed movie VR experience is free starting Dec. 1 via the Oculus Video app, compatible with the Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR, as well as a 360-degree video available on the official Facebook page.
From Dec. 2 through to new years day, January 1st, 2017, the Assassin’s Creed VR experience will hit AMC theaters in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin & New York City. Several Oculus Rift demo kiosks, using Alienware’s Aurora PC equipped with AMD Radeon RX 480 graphics cards will be available.
As a long-time fan of the Assassin’s Creed video game series, I’m looking forward to seeing this movie and hopefully it is of higher quality than most movies based on video games that have been released in the past.
